Connecting the Elephant

We are working with residents in Elephant and Castle to run community street audits which look at improving walking and cycling provision, public transport access, personal safety and the use of community space and facilities for the diverse local population.

Artists and sustainable transport professionals will work with communities throughout the audit process in order to creatively design appropriate solutions, such as walking buddy schemes; promoting walking as healthy exercise; improving seating and lighting; developing cycle lanes; and the creation of home zones (residential areas where priority is given to pedestrians).

The first audit that we are working on is the Green Garter Route.
