Meet the 10% Renewables Requirement
To meet the Mayors Energy Strategy, London Boroughs are beginning to implement a 10% Renewables Requirement, which states that new buildings over 1000 sqm or over 10 dwellings must meet 10% of their energy use through renewable energy sources. All London Boroughs should have a London Development Framework in place by 2007, which will reflect the London Plan including the renewables requirement. Boroughs which have implemented a policy include Croydon, Waltham Forest and Merton, with a further 18 looking at developing a Renewables Requirement for their area.
Our team of consultants and energy engineers can work with you to address the requirements of the 10% Renewables Policy, providing a report detailing recommendations on appropriate technologies to be used to comply with the planning requirements and guidance on the scope of any subsequent work or feasibility studies.
Our service includes liaison with the local authority to clarify how the 10% renewables policy will be implemented, analysis of data such as projected energy consumption, and guidance on energy efficiency measures which could reduce the amount of on-site renewable capacity required.
We will then produce a comprehensive report and deliver a presentation to your organisation on the recommendations.
